Google Maps

Without Maps permission, building pages show only an ordinary external link to Google Maps; the embedded map is not loaded. If you allow Google Maps, your browser loads the embedded map and sends its address together with normal technical request information, which can include your IP address, browser details, and cookies already associated with Google. Google applies its own privacy practices to that processing.

Optional Google Analytics

Google Analytics is disabled by default and loads only if your saved choices allow Analytics.

When allowed, Analytics measures page views and navigation using the page path, page title, and technical information processed by Google. Address and company-name search parameters are removed before a page location is sent. Advertising personalization, Google Signals, ad storage, and User-ID are disabled in the site implementation. Google Analytics may set analytics cookies after consent.

Your privacy choices

The consent banner is initially hidden while the page checks local storage. If no current choice exists, the banner appears with separate Google Maps and Google Analytics controls. The browser stores only those two boolean choices. Declining optional services leaves both integrations disabled. You can clear the saved choices and reopen the banner at any time.

Catalog searches

Contractor-name and building-address searches run in your browser against a static catalog file. If an address is not found locally, submitting the search can send that address directly from your browser to NYC Planning’s public GeoSearch service so candidate properties can be returned. We do not receive or store that request.

Hosting and content delivery

The site is hosted by Netlify and delivered through Cloudflare. These providers process standard request information such as an IP address, requested URL, browser details, timestamps, traffic, security, and performance data to deliver and protect the site. This infrastructure processing occurs when a request reaches the site and does not depend on the optional-services choice.

Public data and external links

Opening an official-data preview sends its published query directly from your browser to the relevant public-data service. Contractor records also link to government portals, company websites, project photographs, and other external sources. Those destinations receive normal browser request information when you choose to open them and apply their own privacy practices.
