Selection and payment
Companies are selected for relevance to New York brownstone, facade, masonry, and related restoration work. Payment, advertising, affiliate relationships, and requests for favorable placement do not influence inclusion or order.
Primary sources
We prefer official registers and first-party company material. Public-record results include the source and last-checked date. Company claims are labeled as claims; permit-matched work is described separately.
Language and limitations
Missing, expired, conflicting, or unavailable records are described as dated findings, not accusations. We do not publish ratings or declare a company good, bad, safe, covered by insurance, or suitable for a particular project.
Corrections
Substantive corrections require a page URL and a source that can be checked. We update the affected record and its last-checked date when evidence supports a change. See Report an inaccuracy.
